Maynilad Water Academy (MWA) hosted a Webinar on Water District Governance for the Board of Directors (BOD), organized by the Philippine Association of Water Districts (WD) and Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands last October 25, 2021. A total of 570 participants from 145 Water Districts participated in the event.
The speakers were Ms. Eileen de la Vega, Deputy Administrator for Institutional Development Service, LWUA, Mr. Andresito Degilla, Chair, PAWD Board of Governors and Chair, Polomolok WD, Board of Directors, and Dr. Adrian Mels, Regional Director, VItens Evides International.
Gracing the webinar was Ms. Stella Gonzales, President of PAWD and Ms. Eileen Rose Tirona-Vizmonte, Senior Policy Officer, Economic & Trade Development of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Engr. Rodora N. Gamboa, Executive Director of MWA, provided the overview and synthesis of the program.
The webinar provided a venue to foster conversations on the role of the BOD of water districts, understand the governance practices in the Philippines and the Netherlands, and citation of relevant competencies of the BOD to perform their duties and responsibilities effectively.
