Maynilad Water Academy Piloted its first Teachers’ Water Camp with Philippine Science High School (PSHS) last October 12 & 13, 2017. Eight (8) teachers from PSHS specializing in integrated science participated in the two (2) day training program. This two (2) day training covered an overview of the water sector in the Philippines, Maynilad’s transformation, caring for our water source, water treatment, and distribution. The training was capped by Prof. Henry S. Tenedero, MDM, CPM, Past President of Philippine Marketing Association, Education for all Development Center. He lectured on the importance of developing entrepreneurial mind frame among the youth especially when it comes to developing solutions and innovations for the water
industry.
The teachers from PSHS expressed their appreciation of the knowledge they gained from the water camp. They plan to include topics on water into their lessons and encourage students to use water wisely and find solutions to challenges related to the water sector.
Teachers’ Water Camp is designed exclusively for teachers in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) track. At the end of the program, teachers are expected to integrate water education in their STEM curriculum, with the objective of demonstrating the relevance and practical application of principles and concepts in Science and Mathematics.
