On November 8–9, 2023, an international research and development conference named “Connecting Dots on Circular Economy for Sustainable Development” was organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in collaboration with the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB).

At the conference, which brought together scholars, policymakers, and professionals, creative ways to promote sustainable development using the circular economy’s tenets were discussed.

During the conference, Mr. Edmundo M. Perez II, Head of MWA’s Technical Advocacy, presented a paper titled “Championing the Circular Economy in Water: The Maynilad Experience.” With a focus on sustainable water management, Mr. Perez shared insights from Maynilad’s exemplary initiatives, shedding light on how circular economy principles can be applied to ensure the responsible use of water resources.

This collaboration between DENR, ERDB, and industry leaders exemplifies a concerted effort to advance research and development in pursuing sustainable and circular economic practices.
