Maynilad Water Academy organized a webinar series for ADB as part of their Urban Sector Group Knowledge Sharing Session.
The webinar series tackled important issues, challenges, and solutions in water supply operations as experienced by Maynilad.
The first session held last August 4, 2021 was handled by Engr. Ryan Jamora, Head and Senior Assistant Vice President, Maynilad’s Central NRW Management Division.
He discussed Maynilad’s transformation story, and how it strategically managed its Non-Revenue Water (NRW).
Engr. Jamora delved into the management of leakage and other forms of NRW, how NRW reduction improves the efficiency of a water utility, resource management, active steps in NRW management, water balance, data and component analysis, and managing leakage and system pressure.
The second session was titled: introduction to District Metering Areas Management held last August 18, 2021. Engr. Wiljeim B. Laureola, Senior Manager for Maynilad’s Central NRW Management Division served as resource speaker.
He tackled about District Metered Area (DMA) as one of the key strategies to reduce NRW. He provided a brief introduction to the benefits, design, guidelines, and challenges in DMA establishment and management.
The third session was about Wastewater Management held last September 8, 2021.
The speaker was Engr. John Aldrin G. Pangan, Head and Assistant Vice President, Wastewater Management Division, Septage Management of Maynilad. Engr. Pangan shared an overview of wastewater management, the importance of treating wastewater collected from customers’ septic tanks and sewerage.
He tackled relevant Philippine environmental laws, wastewater treatment process, and challenges in implementing Maynilad’s sewerage and septage services.
