The Maynilad Water Academy held the first-ever “Junior Water Camp”, a program highlighting the application of science and technology in the water industry last June 27 to July 11, 2017. Junior high school students of the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) experienced first-hand the different operations of Maynilad like water treatment and supply, wastewater management, non-revenue water management and business area operations. They also had their practical exam on water treatment processes as part of their 10-day science immersion program.
The Maynilad Water Academy executive director, Ms. Rodora Gamboa, believes that through education programs such as this Junior Water Camp, the academy can encourage the youth to become the next generation of water professionals. The Junior Water Camp also assists PSHS educators in including water in their integrated science curriculum.
